Who we are & what we do
Sassy Smockers is a chapter of SAGA, the Smocking Arts Guild of America. We gather as a group to learn and practice smocking, heirloom sewing and the related needle arts.
We believe in giving back to the community through service projects such as the Wee Care Program. Our Wee Care program is associated with the Nationwide Children's NICU at St Ann's Hospital .
Our Wee Care project includes smocked bonnets for newborns at St Ann's, I.V. gowns for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and bereavement gowns for families as a memory of child that was lost but will never be forgotten.
To raise money for the fabric and lace used in these projects once a year we raffle off an American Girl doll complete with a wardrobe sewn by our members. In 2011 we will be raffling Elizabeth
Sassy Smockers meets at Beth's Creative Stitchery, 5324 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214-1257 at 7 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
We'd love to have you join us.
