This is vintage Spechler-Vogel. At some point a pin was left in the bolt and left a pinprick mark on the fabric. The distance between pinpricks is approximately ½ yard. See pictures above.
Poly/cotton broadcloth is perfect for pleating, smocking and any children's clothing. 65% polyester, 35% cotton, this fabric washes wonderfully with little or no ironing. It is perfect for smocked insets.
It is denser than batiste and isn't 'see-thru'. It has a beautiful hand & drape.
It doesn't wrinkle, is machine washable and dryable and takes little to no ironing.
I've personally been using Fabric Finders poly cotton broadcloth for several years and prefer it because it has no pink or purple cast which is sometimes seen in other poly cotton broadcloths.
